Pinellas beach parking changes Dec. 1 at Fort De Soto, Sand Key and Fred Howard
Pinellas County’s updated beach guide says Fort De Soto, Sand Key and Fred Howard will switch to hourly parking on Dec. 1, with a $12 daily cap and separate boat-ramp pricing.

What changes Dec. 1
Pinellas County beachgoers and boaters will start paying new rates on Dec. 1 at Fort De Soto, Sand Key and Fred Howard parks. The county’s beach page says the current $6 daily fee stays in place through Nov. 30, then beach parking changes to $3.50 an hour, capped at $12 a day.
Boat-ramp parking will also move to $12 per day on Dec. 1. The county posted the updated information on Nov. 2, before the change takes effect.
What to check before you go
If you use the parks often, the county’s beach page also lists annual pass changes that took effect Oct. 1. It says disabled U.S. veteran passes remain free, which may matter for regular visitors deciding whether to buy a pass or pay daily.
