Pinellas Animal Services starts holiday foster program for shelter pets
Residents can foster a dog or cat for up to 30 days through Dec. 30, with supplies and medical support provided.

Holiday foster program opens
Pinellas County Animal Services is inviting residents to open their homes to shelter pets through its Home for the Holidays foster program. The county says the program runs Nov. 1 through Dec. 30, and residents can foster an adoptable dog or cat for up to 30 days.
The shelter says it provides everything needed during the foster stay, including medical support, and people who bond with a pet can start the adoption process before the foster ends.
How to take part
Residents ready to foster should visit Animal Services at 12450 Ulmerton Road in Largo, meet the cats and dogs, and bring the animal's kennel card and a photo ID to the lobby to finalize the foster.
